Abstract
A metal halide lamp according to the present invention includes: an outer tube; an inner tubethat is provided in the outer tube, has a sealing portionin at least one end portion, and is made of quartz glass; an inner tubeprovided in the outer tube; and an arc tubeprovided in the inner tube, wherein assuming that the outer tubehas a maximum outer diameter A (mm), the inner tubehas a maximum outer diameter B (mm), and the metal halide lampconsumes P (W) of power, the following relationships are satisfied:0.06+15.8≦≦25,0.05+9.0≦, and1.14≦A/B,where P satisfies 20 W≦P≦130 W.
