Abstract

A motor drive system-for a railway vehicle is capable of reducing the weight of wiring, electromagnetic noise, and manufacturing cost. The motor drive system includes an inverter. The inverter is configured to control a motor-and is divided into at least two separate inverter units that are arranged integrally with the motor.
