Abstract

The compound represented by general formula (I) below: wherein Rrepresents hydrogen atom or methyl group; X represents —O(C═O)— or the like; and R represents hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, or the like, and a polymer obtained by polymerizing a polymeric compound comprising the compound, which are useful for manufacturing hydrophilic polymer materials of high biocompatibility.
