Abstract
The chroman compounds of the formula I according to the inventionR-(A-Z)—W—(Z-A)-Z—W—(Z-A)-Rin which R, A, A, A, W, W, Z, Z, Z, Z, a, b and c have the meanings indicated in claim, have two moieties Wand Wderived from chroman. The compounds are suitable as components of anisotropic switching media, as used, for example, in liquid-crystal display devices.
