Abstract
An elevator speed governor for an elevator in which an elevator car () is attached to one end of a rope () having a counterweight () on the other end and driven by a motor () via the rope () comprises a motor current detector () that detects a motor current of the motor (), a target speed determining section () that determines a target speed in accordance with the motor current detected by the motor current detector (), and a motor control section () that controls the motor () so that the elevator car () moves at the target speed determined by the target speed determining section ().
