Abstract
A method for processing original images that are stored in the form of pixels and need to be output at a reduced scale, where all original pixels are weight-added, based upon area pixels. A mutual overlap (g) of the pixels is determined, and intensity values to be assigned to output pixels are a weighted arithmetic mean of intensity values (S) of the original pixels with their respective mutual overlaps as weighting factors.
