Abstract

Disclosed is a shoe press belt () which comprises a reinforcing fibrous base material () embedded in a polyurethane layer, and has an outer circumference layer () and an inner circumference layer () each formed with a polyurethane. The polyurethane layer comprises a polyurethane which is produced by curing a composition comprising a mixture of an urethane prepolymer (A) and a curing agent (B). The urethane prepolymer (A) is produced by reacting an isocyanate compound (a) containing 55 to 100 mol % of a p-phenylene-diisocyanate compound with polytetramethylene glycol (b) and has an isocyanate group at its terminal. The curing agent (B) is selected from the group consisting of 1,4-butanediol, hydroquinone bis-βhydroxylethyl ether, 3,5-diethyltoluenediamine and 3,5-dimethylthiotoluenediamine. The belt () has excellent cracking resistance, bending fatigue resistance and wear resistance.
