Abstract

Defect correction and other de-noising as well as resolution maintenance and contour correction can all be appropriately performed in an image-signal processing device for processing an image signal from an image sensor. First through third de-noising partsthroughare provided separately to correspond to a brightness-processing part, a color-processing part, and a contour-processing part, respectively. Among defect-correcting partsthroughprovided to the de-noising partsthrough, respectively, the defect-correcting partprovided to correspond to the contour-processing partis set to a low defect-correction level and maintains contour information. The defect-correcting partprovided to correspond to the brightness-processing partis set to an intermediate correction level and corrects pixel defects while maintaining resolution. The defect-correcting partprovided to correspond to the color-processing partis set to a high correction level and appropriately removes pixel defects.
