Abstract

A radically polymerizable compound having a group represented by formula (1) (In the formula, Rto Reach independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, X represents an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.) and a radically polymerizable double bond and a composition for an optical material comprising the same have a high refractive index and excellent transparency and are hard to be oxidized in thermal curing and useful as an optical material with little tinting.
