Abstract

A method for use in an equalization of a channel by means of an equalizeris shown, wherein the channel uses a certain frequency band for a transfer of signals. In order to enable a channel equalization which requires a low complexity and which provides at the same time a good performance, the method determines a channel response for at least one frequency point within the frequency band used by the channel. The method further sets at least one adjustable coefficient (φ, b, b, a, a, aof the equalizer such that an equalizer response compensates optimally the determined channel response at the at least one selected frequency point. Also shown is a corresponding signal processing device, a corresponding signal processing system and a corresponding software program product.
