Abstract
A flat belt (), which is made of elastomeric material (), is made up of a first partial belt () and a second partial belt (). The first partial belt () is reinforced with a reinforcement layer () made up of cords. A layer separation which is to be feared theoretically is to be reliably avoided and the bonding of the belt material to the reinforcement layer () is to be optimized. The first belt part () is provided with slots () with the aid of mold drum winding-projections (); the second belt part () defines a filling of the slots () of the first belt part (). Preferably, the reinforcement layer () is positioned centrally in the neutral bending plane of the finished flat belt (). The first belt part () and the second belt part () can be made of different elastomeric materials (). Also, at least one of the two surfaces of the belt () can be coated and/or provided with a longitudinal profile or transverse profile.
