Abstract
A cartridge loading/unloading device includes a cartridge holding mechanismwhich holds a liquid cartridgewhen a liquid cartridgeis inserted by a first predetermined stroke, and a power transmission converting mechanismwhich ensures a push-in force required for loading of the ink cartridgeusing the principle of the lever by the rotational motion of a lever arm, and which converts the rotational motion of the lever arminto a second predetermined stroke S of movement required for loading of the ink cartridgein a state in which it is held by the cartridge holding mechanism. The cartridge holding mechanismincludes an integral engaging memberwhich is engaged with the front side of one surface of the ink cartridgein its loading direction across the center of the one surface.
