Abstract
A bump stop device comprises a bearingprovided with two bottomand topmetal washers between which rolling bodiesare arranged. A friction ringis fixed to the first of the bottom and top metal washers and rubs against the other metal washer in order to create a static frictional torque that is greater than that of the rolling bodies and, in practice, greater than 1 Nm. The friction ringmakes it possible to generate a controlled resisting torque that limits the transmission to the steering column of the torque generated when driving the vehicle on a convex road.
