Abstract
The present invention provides a metallic bipolar plate for a fuel cell and a method for forming a surface layer of the same, in which the surface layer is formed in such a manner that a plasma nitridation process is performed on the surface of a stainless steel base material to form a nitrogen implanted layer, and oxidation and reduction processes are performed on the surface of the nitrogen implanted layer to form a FeOsurface oxidation layer thereon, thus improving conductivity and corrosion resistance.
