Abstract
An inkjet printing press is provided which can hold sheets extremely stably. In an inkjet printing press, an inkjet headis provided at the outer periphery of a printing drumrotated in one direction. The printing drumis provided with holding clawswhich are opened and closed to hold the leading end of the sheet S, and clampswhich can be opened and closed for clamping the trailing end of the sheet S. When the clampsare moved from their open positions to their closed positions, the clampsare moved backward with respect to the rotating direction of the printing drumto impart a tensile force to the trailing end of the sheet S and tighten the sheet so that the trailing end of the sheet is held by a clampwith the sheet in its tight state. Also, the clampis brought into contact with the periphery of the printing drumby an attracting device to assure the holding of the sheet.
