A water trap for sanitary appliances of the kind having an inlet () and an outlet () and including a housing () with an upper portion () provided with the inlet opening () adapted to receive the outlet pipe () of the sanitary appliance, a central portion () adapted to be connected to the upper portion (), provided with a cylindrical passing through space (), the outlet opening () connected to an evacuation pipe () situated in a lower extension of the central portion () and a valve housing (), situated in the upper part, incorporating an air admittance valve () located above the outlet opening () and leaving between its lower part and the upper surface of the outlet opening () an air admittance area (); a lower portion () connected to the central portion () and in which the main part of the water trap or seal is formed by use of a separation wall () extending from the central portion () into the lower portion ().
