Abstract

A slide type portable terminal is provided which can suppress a play, and can secure a predetermined strength, while the play may be easily produced between a portable condition and an extended condition of the slide type portable terminal by a coupling portion having a plurality of rails and a plurality of engaging portions Further, the respective rails are not exposed under swing condition of the slide type portable terminal. A portable terminalis equipped with a coupling portionwhich couples an upper housingto a lower housingand guides an operation condition thereof from the portable condition up to the extended condition; and a swing devicewhich relatively rotates the upper housingand the lower housing. A coupling portioncontains a first railand a second rail, which are provided on a front faceA of the lower housing; and contains a first engaging portionand a second engaging portion, which are provided on a back faceB of the upper housing. After the swing devicehas released an engagement of the first engaging portionwith respect to the first rail, the swing devicerelatively rotates both the upper housingand the lower housingby setting the second engaging portionas a center so as to engage the first engaging portionto the second rail
