Abstract
A seal assembly () for sealing first and second static parts (A,B) with opposed slots (A,B) together forming a pocket (). The seal assembly () comprises a floor strip () positioned adjacent the pocket's floor () and a ceiling strip () positioned adjacent the pocket's ceiling (). A connection () of the strips' central portions () provides a flat hinge between cooperating hinge portions (). A first set of the hinge portions (A-A) converge for insertion into the first slot (A) and a second set of hinge portions (B-B) converge for insertion into the second slot (B). After such slot insertion and pocket installation, the converged hinge portions (A-A,B-B) resiliently diverge within the pocket to seat the floor strip's end portions (A,B) against the pocket's floor () and to seat the ceiling strip's end portions (A,B) against the pocket's ceiling ().
