Abstract
A chair has a seatand a backrestand the backrestis allowed to be tilted backward by elastic deformation of right and left back frame devices. The right and left back frame deviceseach are composed of two unit framesand. The back frame devicehas a main portionwhich are disposed outside the right and left sides of the seat, upper inward portionsandwhich are connected to an upper rear end of the main portion, lower inward portionsandwhich go under the seatfrom a lower end portion of the main portion, and forward end portionsandwhich are integrally connected to the lower inward portionsand. The forward end portionsandare fixed to the base. The back frame devicecan be largely elastically deformed with the combination of a characteristic in which the back frame device is long, a characteristic in which the back frame device has the lower inward portionsand, and a characteristic in which the back frame device has the forward end portionsand. Accordingly, the backrestcan be tilted backward at a large angle.
