Abstract
An exemplary method for driving a liquid crystal display () includes: (a) providing a liquid crystal panel () including a plurality of pixels () arranged in a matrix to define sub-matrices of pixels, each sub-matrix including a plurality of pixel blocks; (b) providing a predetermined polarity pattern for each pixel block for a first frame period, such that each pixel has a predetermined polarity; (c) reversing the polarity of one of the pixels of each pixel block of each sub-matrix in each successive frame period, wherein a different pixel of each pixel block has its polarity reversed with each succeeding frame period, such that in one cycle of frame periods the polarities of all the pixels in each pixel block are reversed once only, and after each pixel block has its polarity reversed, the polarity of the pixel block is maintained for at least four successive frames periods.
