Abstract
A sliding deviceis constituted of a swash plateincluding a first sliding surfaceA and a semispherical shoesliding with the swash plate. The swash plateis constituted of a base materialB of high strength brass containing Mn and Si, and very small granular Mn—Si compoundsare exposed on an inside of the base materialB and on the first sliding surfaceA (surface of the base materialB). The above described swash plateincreases in exposure amount of the Mn—Si compoundsexposed on the first sliding surfaceA by applying etching to the base materialB after cutting the base materialB. The sliding deviceis favorable in seizure resistance and has a low manufacturing cost as compared with conventional sliding devices.
