Abstract
A volumetric pump () comprising a piston () and a cylindrical chamber (), contains an inlet port () and an outlet port (). The piston () is actuated by a rotor () bearing an eccentric shaft (). The shaft (), being connected to the piston (), causes the piston to slide back and forth inside the cylinder chamber () while having a bidirectional angular movement. The instroke of the piston () sucks a fluid () from the inlet port () through a first channel () into the pump chamber (), the fluid being propelled through a second channel () to the outlet port () during the outstroke of the piston (). The inlet () and outlet port () are opened and closed alternatively by the bidirectional angular movement of the piston () which acts as a valve for the inlet and outlet ports ().
