Abstract

A balanced amplifier includes a bypass branch (), termination elements (TE, TE) and an amplifying section (). The section () includes amplifiers (A, A), first coupling/splitting unit () having a first input signal receiving port (), a second port () connected to a termination element (TE), a third port () connected to a first amplifier (A), and a fourth port () connected to a second amplifier (A). The section () also includes second coupling/splitting unit () having a first port () connected to first amplifier (A), a second port () connected to second amplifier (A) and a third port () connected to a termination element (TE). The second coupling/splitting unit () combines signals from amplifiers (A, A) as output signals on a fourth port () for supply to a signal output (O). The branch () is connected to the second port () of the first coupling/splitting unit () and provides bypass signals to output (O).
