Abstract
An end surfaceof sintered bearingis abutted on a dieso that the sintered bearingis mounted thereon, and a toolis abutted on the other end surfaceof the sintered bearing. While the sintered bearingis pressed by the tool, high frequency vibration in an axial direction is supplied from a hornto the toolby operating a vibratorso as to give repeated impacts to both end surfacesandof the sintered bearing, and pores of the end surfacesandare thereby sealed. The dieand the toolhave surfaces abutting the sintered bearing, and the surfaces have roughness of 0.4 s or less and hardness of HRA 60 or more, and the tool presses the sintered bearing at a pressure of 70 to 700 kPa. The high frequency vibration supplied to the toolhas a power of 50 to 3000 W/cm, and it has a frequency of 10 to 50 kHz.
