Abstract
A honeycomb structurehaving an outer wall, partition wallsdisposed inside the outer wall, and a plurality of cellspartitioned from one another by the partition walland extending in the axial direction, each cell having a generally rectangular cross-section shape in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction. The honeycomb structureis characterized in that the honeycomb structureis provided with a reinforced parton a part of the outer wall. The honeycomb structure may exhibit excellent mechanical strength and low pressure loss.
