Abstract

The invention provides a process for the manufacture of a toner which comprises the steps of: wherein R is a carbocyclic or heterocyclic radical which may be optionally substituted and Zis a bond or linker group,on condition that the amount of carboxy functional compound of Formula (1) provided in acid and/or salt form is at least 1.5% by weight, wherein the amount of carboxy functional compound is calculated according to the following equation: The process advantageously may produce a toner of small size and narrow particle size distribution. The present invention also provides a toner manufactured by the process.
