Abstract
A memory read control unit () reads out image data of one pixel from a memory () in synchronism with a clock signal. On the basis of the image data of one pixel, a converting unit () converts the density of a corresponding pixel into digital data of a plurality of bits and stores the digital data in a shift register (). A pixel-piece insertion and deletion control unit () inserts data of one bit into the shift register or deletes data of one bit from the shift register. The pixel-piece insertion and deletion control unit () estimates a data storing state in the shift register and controls image data read-out from the memory () in accordance with the estimated data storing state.
