Abstract
A temperature switch comprises a material () which melts and concomitantly undergoes a change in an electrical characteristic at a predetermined temperature. The temperature switch also includes at least two electrical contacts () for detecting the change in the electrical characteristic. The material () comprises an organic cation and an anion and is preferably an ionic liquid.
