The invention relates to a stand () which is especially adapted to support for a digital X-ray detector () for an X-ray system (), and to an X-ray system () comprising such a stand (). The stand () comprises a stirrup bolt () which is rotatably mounted on a base frame () and which comprises a first limb () for supporting an X-ray emitter () and a second limb () for supporting an X-ray detector (), which is provided on its free end with a detector support (). The detector support () comprises a receiving element () which is adapted to captivate the X-ray detector () in a predetermined position and which can be swiveled in relation to the stirrup bolt () about a swivel axis () being parallel or tangential to the horizontal axis () and about a rotational axis () being perpendicular to the swivel axis () and a principal plane (E) of the receiving element ().
