Abstract
A system for removing sulfur dioxide (SO) from SOladen flue gas resulting from the burning of fossil fuel, includes an absorber and first and second separators. The absorber captures SOfrom a flow of the SOladen flue gas with a sorbent. The first separator separates a first portion of the sorbent with captured SOboth from a second portion of the sorbent with captured SOand from the flue gas. The second separator separates the second portion of sorbent from the flue gas.
