Abstract

The invention relates to a safety joint () for a riser consisting of two telescoping parts that are arranged to break in the event of a predetermined axial tension load. The joint also comprises means () for closing the passage in the joint in the event of fracture where the means are activated by means of the forces generated during the separation.
