A disk holder, disk alignment mechanism and disk drive employing same that for permitting accurate alignment of a disk are provided. The disk drive comprises a disk holderthat comprises a plurality of holder platesthat individually hold disks D, a drive unitthat plays back disks D, disk selectorsA andB that form a space above and below a desired disk D by raising and lowering the holder plates, and a drive basethat moves the drive unitinto the space that is formed as a result of raising and lowering the holder plates. Disk hold linksandcomprising catchesandrespectively that engage with and disengage from the center hole of disk D are provided on the holder platessuch that the disk hold linksandare able to turn, and a disk hold armthat allows the disk hold linksandto turn is provided so as to be able to perform a sliding movement.
