Abstract
A novel monofunctional monomer having a cage oligosiloxane structure is represented by formula (1) wherein X is a polymerizable oxygen-containing C-Cgroup, Ris a C-Csaturated hydrocarbon group, C-Caromatic hydrocarbon group, C-Corganoxy group or halogen atom, and R is a non-polymerizable monovalent C-Chydrocarbon group which is optionally halogenated. The monomer has improved compatibility with various solvents and polymerizable monomers. A method for preparing the same is also provided.
