Abstract
A method for treating cardiovascular disease, including hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis, using abietane diterpenoid compound or terpenoid compound isolated fromas an effective ingredient. The abietane diterpenoid compound or terpenoid compound isolated fromnot only excellently inhibits oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), but also effectively inhibits acyl-CoA: cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) activity.
