Structure data of a character in which a plurality of bones B are joined together with joints J, and polygon data Po for each portion of the character C corresponding to each bone B, are stored. The character image is displayed on the display screen based on the structure data, the polygon data Po, and a position of the character C. Position data corresponding to touch operation input data is calculated, and an angle of a joint J of the character C corresponding to the position data is changed. Thereafter, the character C is drawn and displayed on the display screen while changing a portion whose joint angle is changed, in real time, in accordance with the angle.
