A mobile station () provides seamless mobility across multicast domains for communicating with a multicast group () in a telecommunication system () that includes a home domain () and a visited domain (). The mobile station () includes a local source address () and a home address (). The mobile station () also includes a domain detector () for detecting a current domain of the mobile station (), a comparator () for comparing the current domain of the mobile station with a previous domain of the mobile station () to generate a comparison result; and a multicast mode switch () coupled to the comparator () for switching between the local source address () and the home address () to select a source address for communicating with the multicast group () as a function of the comparison result.
