Abstract
An adiponitrile/methylglutaronitrile preparation process includes distilling a reaction stream to obtain streamdepleted in pentenenitriles (bottom product) and streamenriched in pentenenitriles (top product); extracting streamobtaining streamenriched with extractant (top product) and streamdepleted in extractant (bottom product); distilling streamobtaining streamcomprising the catalyst (bottom product) and streamcomprising the extractant (top product); distilling streamobtaining stream(bottom product) and streamcomprising the extractant (top product); distilling streamobtaining streamcomprising catalyst degradation products, at least one promotor, adiponitrile and methylglutaronitrile (bottom product) and streamcomprising pentenenitriles (top product); distilling streamobtaining streamcomprising catalyst degradation products and the promotor(s) (bottom product) and streamcomprising adiponitrile and methylglutaronitrile (top product); distilling streamobtaining streamcomprising adiponitrile (bottom product) and streamcomprising methylglutaronitrile (top product).
