Abstract
In a linear transport device () for tear-off lids (), the latter are tested for the impermeability of the seal and the foil in a test device () that is integrated into the linear transport device. The lid is fixed between a pressure chamber () and a measuring chamber () in an airtight manner and a test pressure is applied to the lid from the underside. An air-permeable support () in the measuring chamber exerts pressure on the upper face of the lid and any increase in air pressure in the measuring chamber caused by a degree of permeability is detected and evaluated by a sensor (). A burst test can be carried out in the same test device.
