Abstract
A device for scaling and quantization of digital soft output values (s) from an equalizer has a control loop for controlling a statistical parameter (θ) for the scaled and quantized soft output values (s), which contains a calculation unit () for calculation of the statistical parameter (θ), and a control unit () for calculation of a scaling factor (c) for scaling the soft output values (s) from the equalizer on the basis of the statistical parameter (θ).
