Abstract
The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device to which retardation of a desired value is imparted. In the liquid crystal display device of the invention, orientation films which are oriented by the light radiation possess a retardation value of 1.0 nm or more and an anchoring strength of 1.0×10Jmor more.
