Abstract
A connector () includes an insulative housing () having a base portion (), a first tongue portion () extending forwardly from the base portion and a plurality of first passageways (), the first tongue portion is thinner than the base portion and defines a front mating face (), an upper side face () and a lower side face () opposite to the upper side face. A number of first electrical contacts () are received in the first passageways respectively, the first electrical contacts each defines a first contacting portion (), a first soldering portion () and a first retaining portion () connecting with the first contacting portion and the first soldering portion. A number of optical components () are mounted on the first tongue portion and exposed to exterior through the front mating face.
