Abstract

In an image forming apparatuscapable of reserving a plurality of printing jobs, the suspended state retention time for retaining the suspended state is preset by the operation of an operation section. When a printing job during output operation has been suspended, a timing sectionstarts to measure the preset suspended state retention time. If the printing job having been suspended is not resumed even after the lapse of the suspended state retention time and there is a subsequent printable job, the order of the printing jobs is changed and the subsequent printing job is executed.
