Abstract

A carba-sugar amine derivative represented by the following formula (1) or (2) is used as the active ingredient of a β-galactosidase inhibitor or a glycolipid metabolic disorder treating agent. Wherein each of Rand Rindependently represents H, an alkyl group, an acyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, with the proviso that both are not H at the same time, and each of R, R, Rand Rindependently represents a hydroxyl group or hydroxyl group having a substituent.
