Abstract

An electronic apparatus which makes it possible to reduce start-up time for starting the electronic apparatus, without necessitating installment of a plurality of CPUs in the electronic apparatus. A main CPUcontrols a digital camera implementing the electronic apparatus. A storage medium for storing information can be detachably attached to a connector. A medium detection circuitmonitors a status of attachment and detachment of the storage medium to and from the digital camera, irrespective of a status of operation of the main CPU. The sensed status of attachment and detachment of the storage medium is stored in a registerof the medium detection circuit
