Abstract

A method for spectral analysis of a signal (s(t)) in several frequency bands with different frequency resolution adapts the two spectra of the signal (s(t)) from adjacent frequency bands relative to one another in the transitional range of the two frequency bands. The associated device contains a unit for discrete convolution (), which implements a smoothing of the discrete power spectra (|(k)|) of the discrete signal (s(k)) from adjacent frequency bands in the transitional range of the two frequency bands.
