A niobium compound, ammonium(bisaquo oxobisoxalato)niobate (NH)[Nb(O)(CO)(HO)] and hydrates thereof, is described along with formulations containing the same and methods for creating a product specification for a batch, lot, or shipment of such compounds, comprising specifying at least one property value for said batch, lot, or shipment.
