Abstract

A floating type disc brake 'A' used for a vehicle such as a motorcycle comprising a braking rotorA and a hubA arranged inside the braking rotorA, the braking rotorA including an annular rotor portionand a plurality of projectionsA extending radially inward from the inner circumferential portion of the rotor portion, and further comprising a connecting meansfor connecting the braking rotorA and the hubA at positions in which the projectionsA of the braking rotorA are abutted to the outer circumferential portion of the hubA. At least one of the rotor portionand the projectionsA is formed with cutout portionsat the boundary region between the rotor portionand the projectionsA. It is possible to suppress a local heat dissipation in regions of the rotor portionin which the projectionsA are formed and thus to reduce irregularity of heat distribution in the rotor portionduring braking operations.
