Abstract
A unit (') for applying opening devices (′) to packages () of pourable food products, the unit (′) having first conveying means (′) for feeding the opening devices (′) successively along a first path (P, P′); second conveying means () for feeding the packages () successively along a second path (P); and transfer means () for transferring the opening devices (′) from the first path (P, P′) to the second path (P), and in turn having a wheel () rotating about an axis (A), and a number of gripping members (′) carried by the wheel () and for receiving respective opening devices (′) from the first conveying means (′) and transferring them to the second path (P) by rotation of the wheel (); the transfer means () also having connecting means () for connecting the gripping members (′) movably to the wheel (), and cam guide means () for altering the position of each gripping member (′) with respect to the wheel () as the wheel () rotates.
