Abstract

In a rising gathered memberof an absorbent main bodyattached to an external sheet, an inward folded base endis joined astride a side endof a top sheetas a top surface of the absorbent main bodyand a side endof a back sheetso that the rising gathered memberrises from a most side edgein a width direction of the absorbent main bodyand, also, the back sheetof the absorbent main bodyis attached onto a skin-contacting surface side of a crotch part R of a second external sheetat an inward position at a prescribed width Wfrom the most side edgeof the absorbent main bodyas an outermost joint position. With the above constitution, it is possible to effectively prevent any lateral leakage of urine and the like, even if a disposable absorbent article is shifted. Moreover, the base end of the rising gathered member is merely joined to the side end of the top surface of the absorbent main body, thereby requiring no sheet winding step or the like, such a simple process can achieve inexpensive production, and further, the stability of product precision becomes improved.
