Abstract
A handheld power tool with a rotating and/or hammering drive mechanism for a tool () that can be inserted into a tool receptacle () has a unit which transmit the rotation of a motor shaft () to an intermediate shaft (), by which the tool receptacle () is set into a rotary motion and/or a hammering motion. A compact construction of the handheld power tool is attained by providing that the motor shaft () is coupleable or is coupled to the intermediate shaft () in one axis.
